World Tuberculosis Day 2009

In 1882 Robert Koch announced he discovered the cause of tuberculosis, the Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Today more than 2 billion people are infected with the Mycobacterium.

There were 9.2 million new TB cases in 2006.
