A podcast is free collection of audio clips (and video sometimes) that you can listen from your browser, download manually or subscribe via iTunes to get updates automatically.
The downloaded files can be then uploaded on a portable mp3 player (such as an iPod) and listened "on the go", which makes this kind of media really handy and time efficient for many listeners.
Here is a list of interesting and valuable medical podcast I know about. I have considered only those who are regularly updated and subscribable via iTunes.
